Swirling Thoughts

What a Labor Day weekend... All these swirling winds and rains from Hurricane Gustav make my thoughts swirl, too. What would we do in such a situation: our homes threatened by Mother Nature, our possessions possibly swept away, our loved ones heading to safety and those who have to remain behind??? I feel blessed to not have to worry about evacuating my home and city, but I hurt for those who are having to face those very concerns. Our family is thinking of and praying for those many people affected by Gustav. We pray, too, Hanna, Ike, and possibly Josephine end up not causing major problems.

Labor Day weekend always seems like the official end to summer. The final "Hoo-rah." The end to the leisure days of summer.

A re-cap of our summer highlights:

My mom's 60th birthday at the beginning of summer. We are so blessed to have Cappie a regular presence in our lives! Our children LOVE being with Cappie!

The big 6 for Smiley!

Our baby heading off to "school" (Terrific Tuesdays) - her first time away from Mommie!

Camp memories!

And, of course, the big girl bed!! Don't forget about the fun, twirly dress for Little Bit!

We already shared pictures from Denver and a few other significant events. But, I have to say that, without a doubt, our summer was a success. We look ahead to all the fun activities beginning in the next week or two. Our leisure is gone until next summer, but there is something to be said for routine! :-)
