Birthday Fun!

ACat had a wonderful birthday, most of it being celebrated this past weekend. This was her "off" year for a big party, so she had a couple of close friends over for a small Wii party. I kept saying "small" to convince myself to keep it small. No favors, no big games/activities, no fancy invitations, etc. We started alternating years for "big" parties. Having 3 kids makes it hard to plan 3 big blow-outs every single year! Plus, CS and I want our girls to learn that you can celebrate your special day without having every single girl you know from every single activity attending. We don't do some of the "hot" party locations, again trying to teach our girls that you can have just as much fun with a party where money is spent more wisely (just our opinion there!). Believe me, we've had some interesting ones at home, too...just ask me some time about the wild and crazy "Not Quite Spend the Night" party for ACat's 6th birthday. 22 girls?!?! Whew - that spurred this whole new "unwritten rule" for the girls' future parties!
