He's...well...He's Flat

UPDATED: Our little friend received Flat Stanley in the mail yesterday! Her mom said she was super excited that he was a cowboy! Yay!


Ever heard of Flat Stanley? As in the book or the little boy?

His name is Stanley Lambchop, and he's...well...he's flat.


The story reads that one night his big bulletin board falls on him and flattens him. Flat as in 1/2" thick. That's pretty flat, huh?!?! But, what's fun is he wants to go to California to visit his friend Thomas. Stanley's dad folds him up and puts him in a big brown envelope to be mailed to California. A lot easier and cheaper than flying, huh?!?!


Well, we had a Flat Stanley come to us this week from New Hampshire. We have some friends who live in New Hampshire and their daughter, Megan, had a Flat Stanley study at school. The first graders read the book and mailed Flat Stanleys to friends or family members to decorate in their state's climate. We were thrilled to be chosen to receive a visit from Megan's Flat Stanley. A mini craft project for us girls! And, as all good Texans know, we are all cowboys who ride horses to work and school (ever talked to non-Texas people who believe this stereotype?) . So, of course, we made our Flat Stanley into a real Texas cowboy before mailing him back to New Hampshire! It was so much fun! Thanks, Megan, for sending Flat Stanley to visit us! We hope he enjoyed his time in Texas and loves his new Texas duds!
