We Have Arrived!

We are officially here in Gunnison, Colorado! The trip was long but uneventful, which is good! Caboose was wonderful on the ride, considering his age. That's just a long time for anyone! We drove 11 1/2 hours yesterday and spent the night in Walsenburg, CO. Today, we drove 3 1/2 hours to Gunnison...through mountains and passes. SO pretty!


We left yesterday morning at 5 am...tossed the kids in the car in their pjs and hit the road. We stopped after 3 hours to get the kids dressed and eat breakfast. We then traveled on to Amarillo and stopped for 2 hours for lunch at Cracker Barrel. The last leg of the trip took us through New Mexico and into Colorado. We met our co-mission-trip-team members, the Millers, for supper in Trinidad. Fun!

We were in the Colorado mountains when we stopped to look at this HUGE herd of buffalo. I bet there were 300-400 animals out there. It was amazing!


Not far after the buffalo, I saw this big brown animal ambling across a field...it was a big black bear! We stopped for a picture and he ran on. It was so neat to see a bear in the wild - beautiful!


We head to the church tomorrow morning for a service. After the service, we will eat lunch together and then work on the Open House we will do in the evening for VBS registration. We know this will be a great week!
