So, in honor of our crazy weekend, I think I'll divide my posts of it all into 3. Here's the first account of it all.
Thursday was one of those not-so-fun days of "taking care of business." We knew what Friday and Saturday held, so we worked non-stop to finish up chores and errands. Exhausting, nonetheless.
Friday - such a beautiful day - was exciting from the start. The girls had completed most of their schoolwork on Thursday, so after a quick spelling test and history quiz, they were ready to go! I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that we usually make a couple of trips to pumpkin patches during the Halloween season. So, we headed to Bell Family Farms/Pappy's Pumpkin Patch Friday morning for our second time to a patch. Boy, was it a busy place - school buses and all! Since CS was with us this time, we were able to pick out our pumpkins for our front porch. The cool weather just helped with the "fall-ish" mood all the more!
Here are the girls at our house before leaving:
And, here they are upon arrival at the patch. Check out a new friend made during this trip! I wonder if the family picked a black cat on purpose, since they are in the fall/Halloween business? Funny!
The first thing the girls wanted to do was to ride the barrel train. Check out the barrel car they each picked! Oh, sweet ACat...a girl after my own heart! She has walked the stage at A&M over 10 years ago, after all! Please disregard the orange barrel in the background...not newsworthy at all! :-)
Here is the parade out to the patch.
All the fun picking out just the right pumpkin:
And, you can't forget the face-painting! Smiley always wants a spider so she can scare her Umple T! ACat wanted the black cat...maybe in honor of the new friend.
The last thing to share (about this portion of the weekend) is the picture of the fruits of our labor! LOL! I bet you can guess which pumpkin belongs to whom! The big one, of course, is the family one to carve.
Happy Fall, everyone!
Cindy and crew
P.S. You may have noticed that I am officially half-way through my pregnancy now! CS and I go this week for the *BIG* day! Hopefully, we will get to share a sweet picture of our baby's face! Stay tuned for that update...
