Back to the weekend...Part 2:
After our fun at the pumpkin patch, we headed to Henderson and to my mom's house. We had some things to do that afternoon (helping my mom and getting hair trims for all us girls), and then we got ready to celebrate my birthday, albeit 2 weeks late (but that's okay!). I didn't take many pictures from this evening but I have a couple.
My mom fixed a potato bar for supper and it was so good! Each person was able to fix his/her potato just like he/she wanted it. Yum! Then, she had a cake for me from my favorite bakery in Henderson - Snowflake. It was white with raspberry filling - holy cow! I loved the fall decor they put on the cake, too!
After opening presents and such, we headed to the PRCA rodeo that was in town. The kids always love going and we had a late but fun cowboy night! Here's a picture of "the buddies"...Connar and ACat are just 7 months apart and have such a special relationship with each other. They are more like brother and sister than first cousins...except they don't fight and argue very much at all. It's neat to see them playing outside and just discussing life issues/events together. They like to joke around (with Connar picking her up like in the pic) b/c ACat is petite and light and Connar is tall and stout! He's a good head or two taller than her!
Then, we had a friend with us...so here's a pic of the 4 girls before heading out to the rodeo:
And, here's sweet Little Bit with her Daddy. She didn't leave his side most the evening! Little girls and their daddies have such special bonds!
We didn't get back home until 11:00 that night! It wouldn't have been so bad but ACat had to get up at 6:30 for an early soccer game!
Part 3:
CS took ACat to her soccer game (they won 6-0!) while I stayed with the other 3 at home. After lunch and after Smiley's friend went home, we had to re-load things for another soccer game. This one, though, was at UT-Tyler! ACat's team was serving as the ball girls for this Homecoming game. What an experience for them! It is amazing to watch how these college girls play - such strategy and aggression! I wouldn't have wanted to be out there! :-) The first picture, they are getting their instructions of what to do when a ball went out of bounds. Then, since it was Homecoming for UT-Tyler, the ball girls walked out with the seniors members for an introduction. ACat's team (Xtreme) really stood out in their new red, white, and blue uniforms, I thought!
After nearly 3 hours in the cool weather and strong sun (and getting sunburned!), we headed home to meet my mom for some quick errands and then to head to our neighbor's 2nd birthday party. We stayed over their until well after dinner, came home for baths, and headed to bed (late again!). We did manage to drag up for church the next morning! :-)
So, that was the end of our constantly busy weekend. We enjoyed, of course, every minute but I think we are still feeling the tiredness from it all!
