It's Getting Closer

We headed to my mom's house on Saturday, and there was a surprise in her back yard. Something that wouldn't mean much to most people, but, to us, it is a sign that autumn is around the corner. About this time every year, right before the first cold/cool snap, some special bulbs burst forth from the ground, seemingly overnight. Spider Lilies! We have annual pictures with these beautiful, fun red flowers, and we couldn't let this year get passed us without a few snapshots! The Beauty Berry Bushes were also in their prime - such pretty little purple berries!

Saturday was a somewhat pleasant day, though still overcast and soggy from all the rain last week. The girls enjoyed a few minutes on the swings in Cappie's back yard.

Also, Little Bit (on her own accord) showcased her ability to put items in a pattern. These little decorative berries are always a hit with our toddlers, and we usually are forced to move them from eye level due to the temptation to throw them like balls. But, with Little Bit, we were able to leave them, as she nicely carried them to the table to line up her "rainbow", as she called it.

Preschool concepts already at work!
